Find hope to press on . . .

Hope to endure . . .

Hope to stay focused . . .

Hope to see dreams fulfilled . . .

Hope is more than mere wishful thinking. Hope is a vital necessity of life?a gift that God wants to give to you. And in a world that regularly writes dreams off as foolish and drains the hope from the heart with dark pessimism, Hope Again is a voice crying in the wilderness . . . a word of enthusiasm for life in the midst of any difficult situation you are in.

Combining the New Testament teachings of Peter and the insights of one of the most popular authors of our day, Hope Again is an encouraging, enlivening, and refreshing look at why we can dare to hope no matter who we are, no matter what we face.

As Charles Swindoll says, "If you want to smile through your tears, if you want to rejoice through times of suffering, just keep reminding yourself that what you're going through isn't the end of the story, it's simply the rough journey that leads to the right destination."

Uncovers the personal, deeply emotional nature of God's love

We're all familiar with heartbreak. We know what it's like to be betrayed by someone we love.

What we often forget--or may not even realize--is that God can relate to those feelings. Every time we betray Him, He endures intense heartbreak. Only in God's case, He doesn't act on paranoia, distrust, or smothering possessiveness, but rather a righteous jealousy, borne of our duty to reserve our highest devotion for Him alone.

With her newest Bible study, Sue Edwards dives into Hosea's story. This prophet's life is a stunning illustration of how God's fierce love for us can manifest wonders. In Hosea's time, the nation of Israel needed that lesson--and God used the prophet as a teaching tool. This gifted preacher was commanded by God to marry a prostitute named Gomer, and to return to her again and again after she betrayed him in the most public ways.

Hosea's fascinating story and sermons will revolutionize every reader's perspective on life's circumstances. His example shows how God sometimes responds to our betrayal with tough love that reorients our focus and wakes us up to return to intimate fellowship with Him. But even as Hosea's marriage demonstrates that the tough love of our heavenly Father can be grueling, it is always in our best interest--and it isn't His final move. Dig into Hosea and discover the truth of God's ferocious love and merciful purposes.

Hume on God Irony Deism & Genuine Theism

Hume on God Irony Deism & Genuine Theism
$148.00

David Hume, one of the most influential philosophers to have written in the English language, is widely known as a skeptic and an empiricist. He is famous for raising questions about the existence of things for which there is insufficient empirical evidence, such as souls, the self, miracles, and, perhaps most importantly, God.
Despite this reputation, however, Hume's works contain frequent references to a deity, and one searches in vain to find a positive assertion of atheism. This book proposes a different reading of Hume on God, in which Hume is seen as proposing a 'genuine theism'. Yoder investigates Hume's use of irony and his relationship with the Deists of his era and offers a thorough re-examination of Hume's writings on religion. Yoder concludes that, despite Hume's criticisms of the church, religiously-based ethics and the belief in miracles, he stops well short of a rejection of the existence of God. Always a creative thinker, Hume carves out a unique conception of the divine being.

Philippians is saturated with joy. While under house arrest in Rome, Paul wrote to encourage the Philippians to rejoice in the Lord, despite their circumstances--to find Christ-centered, Spirit-empowered joy in living, serving, sharing, and resting.

Colossians is addressed to a church suffering from cultural capitulation and spiritual surrender--just like the church of the twenty-first century. Those who deceive others with self-centered philosophies, self-promoting legalism, and self-serving asceticism attract power and attention, while diminishing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Colossians serves as a lighthouse piercing the fog of false teaching and leading us to the safe harbor of Christ.

Philemon illustrates the importance of second chances, the equality of believers in Christ, and the power of the gospel to transcend cultural and social boundaries, it reminds us of the Christ-centered concepts of freedom, forgiveness, mercy, and especially grace.

The 15 volume Swindoll's Living Insights New Testament Commentary series draws on Gold Medallion Award-winner Chuck Swindoll's 50 years of experience with studying and preaching God's Word. His deep insight, easygoing style, and humor bring a warmth and accessibility not often found in commentaries. Each volume combines verse-by-verse commentary, charts, maps, photos, key terms, and background articles with practical application. This series is a must-have for pastors, teachers, and anyone else who is seeking a deeply practical resource for exploring God's Word.

"An appreciation for the rich diversity of literary genres in Scripture is one of the positive features of evangelical scholarship in recent decades."--David M. Howard Jr., series editor

At one time, Old Testament apocalyptic literature was relegated to the more obscure reaches of biblical scholarship, acceptable to occasionally refer to, but too thorny to delve into deeply. However, in recent decades it has moved to the forefront of research. The rich veins of insight to be mined in the book of Daniel and other apocalyptic texts are being rediscovered. Richard A. Taylor has crafted a handbook to explore those riches and uncover a way to understand apocalyptic literature more fully.

Taylor begins with a helpful introduction to the genre; surveys the purpose, message, and primary themes of Old Testament apocalyptic literature; and then discusses critical questions and key works for further study. He also provides guidelines for interpreting apocalyptic texts, followed by Old Testament passages that serve to illustrate those guidelines.

While primarily written for pastors and graduate students, Interpreting Apocalyptic Literature is nonetheless accessible to those who simply want to study the texts more deeply than previously possible.

Because of language, cultural, time, and geographical barriers interpreting the minor prophets has at times frustrated and even defied Old Testament scholars. In response to this frustration, Robert Chisholm has written this volume. Interpreting the Minor Prophets surveys the structure, message, and theological themes of each of the twelve minor prophets. But the author does not stop with a mere survey. As Ryken and others have demonstrated, literary approaches are sweeping into the arena of biblical studies and, according to Chisholm, this way of studying the Bible is long overdue and most welcome. Therefore, he emphasizes the literary and rhetorical aspects of each prophets' message as the key to understanding the prophetic books. Interpreting the Minor Prophets is an ideal text or resource for anyone seeking thorough information on any or all of the minor prophets.
