Cambridge Introduction to Biblical Hebrew

$54.99
The Cambridge Introduction to Biblical Hebrew is designed for anyone studying biblical Hebrew for the first time. It is well suited for students enrolled in introductory-level courses as well as clergy and laity engaged in self-study. The accompanying CD (suitable for Mac and PC) includes the workbook, answers, paradigms, and the interactive program TekScroll. TekScroll greatly facilitates learning through grammar illustrations with moving graphics, interactive parsing programs, translation practice items, and a vocabulary program. The grammar illustrations demonstrate key grammatical points. The parsing programs provide feedback, hints, and corrections. Translation practice comes primarily from biblical verses. The vocabulary quizzing program includes audio of the vocabulary words. The textbook is designed for a two-semester course covering one chapter of grammar per week (22 chapters) and then turning to select syntactical items. Each chapter begins with a Focus section, identifying key elements, and is followed by a summary, vocabulary list, and description of the learning activities on the CD. The practice translation items and workbook exercises only use vocabulary from previous chapters (with few exceptions), so that they can be used immediately in classroom instruction.

There are some questions you can't avoid, no matter what you believe. The Bible is held up by many as the Word of God, but to make such an assertion is to invite a greater scrutiny than we assign to other literature. Are the documents that make it up reliable sources of history? Where did they come from? What's been left out, and why? This Critical Questions Discussion Guide provides a forum for exploring this question in a group or individually, guided by the engaging insights of world-class philosophers and theologians.

Christian Fiction...
or Biblical Fact?

Today, the hope that all believers on earth will be "caught up" to heaven is being challenged in new waves of criticism. Is the rapture really taught in the Bible? Can we really expect Jesus to gather up His followers before the Antichrist is revealed?

In this well-reasoned and thorough defense, prophecy authors Mark Hitchcock and Ed Hindson examine the concept, context, and consequences of the important and long-expected event known as the rapture. Discover the answers to such questions as...

  • What is the rapture--and is there any historical precedent for it?
  • Why do some believers object to the idea of a rapture?
  • Does the timing of the rapture really make a difference?
  • As you explore what Scripture says about the end times, you'll get a grander glimpse of your glorious future and the deepest hope of every follower of Jesus.

The Cape Town Commitment, which arose from The Third Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization (Cape Town, 2010), stands in the historic line of The Lausanne Covenant (1974) and The Manila Manifesto (1989). It has been translated into twenty-five languages and has commanded wide acceptance around the world. The Commitment is set in two parts. Part 1 is a Confession of Faith, crafted in the language of covenantal love. Part 2 is a Call to Action. The local church, mission agencies, special-interest groups, and Christians in the professions are all urged to find their place in its outworking. This annotated bibliography of The Cape Town Commitment, arranged by topic, has been compiled by specialists in a range of fields. As such, it is the first bibliography of its kind. - Arranged in sections for graduate-level teaching - Equally useful for research students "Darrell Bock has produced another significant volume, which will be now and in the future a standard exposition of The Cape Town Commitment of the Third Lausanne Congress 2010, a historic confession of evangelical and biblical faith and a call to action for the entire Christian community in the twenty-first century. His timely work will be greatly appreciated as a textbook for theological training and a ministry guide for all those who are committed to the Great Commission of Jesus Christ." --Sang-Bok David Kim, President, Torch Trinity Graduate University, Seoul, Korea "This is an extraordinarily important resource for the global evangelical church. It provides a wealth of material in support of The Cape Town Commitment, which itself epitomizes the very best of twenty-first-century evangelical thought and devotion. No question--these two items together belong in every seminary and Bible college curriculum and in every evangelical church library in the world." --Samuel Logan, International Director, The World Reformed Fellowship "Every reader will be pleasantly surprised and grateful to find extensive resources they never knew about. The Cape Town Commitment unites the voices of evangelical leaders from 198 nations. So as new editions emerge, I am confident that the editors and publisher will be keen to include even more works from the non-western world. This is a hugely welcome start to an ongoing international collaborative process." --Christopher J. H. Wright, International Ministries Director, Langham Partnership "This piece of work combines theological competence and dedication. It is a gem even for seasoned theological teachers like me, and for all those who wish to deepen their evangelical faith, this will prove to be extremely useful." --Carver Yu, President, China Graduate School of Theology Darrell Bock (PhD, Aberdeen University) is the former President of the Evangelical Theological Society and the author of several books. He is Research Professor of New Testament at Dallas Theological Seminary.

Cappuccino with Colossians Coffee Cup Bible Studies

    $12.99

Cappuccino with Colossians is part of the Coffee Cup Bible Studies, a series of Bible studies for women in compact, workbook format that examine the "life and times" of certain Bible characters and the books of the Bible that pertain to them. Each study is to be read over a four-to-six week period, and study sections are broken down into short, daily segments designed to fit reader's busy lifestyles.

Understanding that time is precious, the Coffee Cup Bible Studies are patterned in such a convenient way that they can be read during brief windows of opportunity that allow for meditation and study (breakfast, lunch, coffee breaks, etc.) Scripture is provided from the NET Bible (New English Translation), making Bible study convenient for occasions when you can't carry a Bible.

Deceptions about Jesus' identity are common today but are hardly new. First-century believers had challenges of their own from those who held to early forms of Gnosticism. Through his letter to them, the apostle Paul helps the Colossians-and consequently us-to see Christ in His true glory as firstborn, as master, as Lord, and as God.

In Cappuccino with Colossians you will encounter in the humble Son the same God who created all things and through whom all things hold together. Designed for group or individual study, Cappuccino with Colossians sets the stage for exciting, faith-stretching interaction with God's Word.

Come face to face with the sovereign God of past, present and future.

Chai with Malachi is part of the Coffee Cup Bible Studies, a series of Bible studies for women in compact, workbook format that examines the "life and times" of certain Bible characters and the books of the Bible that pertain to them. Each study is to be read over a four-to-eight-week period, and study sections are broken down into short, daily segments designed to fit readers' busy lifestyles. Chai with Malachi brings readers face-to-face with a sovereign God of past, present, and future, who keeps His promises to discipline and bless His people so that He will be known among the nations. Through penetrating use of rhetorical questions, "Lord Sabaoth" reveals the justice and mercy required for His people to spread His renown in all the earth. And with that revelation comes a promise that the "sun of righteousness will arise with healing in its wings."
Designed for group or individual study, Chai with Malachi guides readers through an encounter with "the Lord who rules over all." With an examination of the 400 silent years between the Book of Malachi and Christ's birth, Chai with Malachi, contains a special Advent-themed bonus section for those taking the study during the Christmas season.
